I'M BACK?!?!?!

I'm Back!

Hey guys, Lavenderxxrose (or MistyPawz) is back! After a long break, I've finally settled on a posting schedule. I can't post daily, because I'm the only one posting on this blog, and I'm actually very busy with school and stuff like that. So I've decided that I'll be posting once a week! Which day of the week I'll be posting on is still undecided, but I'll figure all that stuff out soon enough. This will probably begin next week, so yeah, look out for that post! Also, I'm thinking of accepting new authors. More information on that later. See you guys in the next post!

Grasping the Concept of Rarity on Animal Jam!

Grasping the Concept of Rarity!

Hey jammers! Misty here. In today's post, I'm basically going to be explaining a very important part of Animal Jam gameplay...and that, of course, would be trading. The concept of trading is quite complex, I still am quite confused about some of the logic that goes in to this concept. But it is important to know this information so you don't cluelessly accept a HUGE under-trade, or decline a HUGE over-trade. So let's start with the basics- well, not the basic basics. I think we all know how to trade here, so I don't think we need to go over that. Well, let's get started.....

These items were all sold in the Jam Mart Clothing Store at one point. So what's the difference? Well, the Rare Spring Flower Crown has a rare label on it. That's because it's a Rare Item Monday. A Rare Item Monday is sold in a clothing shop, whether it be Jam Mart clothing,  or Epic Wonders, for one day. The designer skirt was sold in the Jam Mart Clothing Shop, but no longer is. The necklace is still sold in the Jam Mart Clothing shop till this day, so it is called a store-bought item. You cannot trade a store-bought item for a Rare Item Monday, or a item that is out of stores. You can trade a few different Rare Item Mondays for an item out of stores. A good Rare Item Monday would be a rare Item Monday from a long time ago. A good Rare Item Monday for a recent Rare Item Monday would be an overtrade.

Beta items are items that were out during the beta days of Animal Jam, or Animal Jam in its early stages. There are den betas and clothing betas. Top hats, arctic hoods, beards, bubble gum machines, art easels, pink forest walls, and wood floors are all examples of betas. There was a thing called a Beta Party in Animal Jam, where there are items that actually have Beta as a part of their name. Those aren't actually beta, so don't be fooled!
Spikes are a big part of Animal Jam trading. There are many types of spikes, long collars, short collars, diamond shop collars, long wristbands, short wristbands, and diamond shop wristbands. Spikes can be earned in the Forgotten Desert and Lucky Clovers adventure. There is such a thing as bad spikes and good spikes. A spike is determined to be a good spike or a bad spike by it's color. Colors that make it a bad spike are orange, pink, green, and yellow. Good spikes would be blue, pink, red, and of course, black.

Glitched items are EXTREMELY rare in Animal Jam.  A glitched ring (shown in the picture above) would approximately be 2 black longs. Other examples of glitched items are magenta furry hats. Unreleased and deleted items are similar to glitched items, but I do not believe they have the same worth. Epic den plaques and animal coins are examples of unreleased or deleted items.
An item's worth really comes down to how many of those items are in the game. So basically the more copies of that item you recycle, the rarer that item becomes. An item can become much rarer, if a jammer starts collecting that item and recycling all the copies that they have collected. An item can also become much less rare if they make a comeback and go back to stores. For example, the fluffy fox hat was sold in the Leap Year party, and is a little less rare than it was before.
Do not fall for these item generators! They DO NOT really work! The people who own this site are just trying to hack you, so never give your password to one of these hacking sites, whatever they may be.

History On WildWorks/AJHQ

History On Wildworks/AJHQ

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey jammers! Misty here. Today, I'm going to be telling you about the history of Wildworks, the company that made Animal Jam. Wildworks used to be called Smart Bomb Interactive, but after 9/11 happened... well, they found that having the name Smart Bomb Interactive wasn't such a good idea. Wildworks is a game development studio based in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.  The company has been assembled from game industry veterans, designing innovative and original titles for gamers of all ages and across all platforms, including home consoles, PCs and handheld devices.
Wildworks had released Animal Jam in 2010 in partnership with National Geographic. It is one of the fastest-growing online kids properties worldwide; in May 2011, Animal Jam announced it had surpassed 1 million registered players. By August 2012, the game surpassed 6 million players. In March 2013 the game had surpassed 10 million players. In 2014, it was announced Animal Jam has reached 30 million players worldwide. By 2016, it had reached over 50 million players. Wildworks posted this on their blog, which was apparently a re-share of an article from the Market Wired website: "WildWorks, a leading developer of online worlds and free-to-play games, today announced that Animal Jam has become the fastest growing gaming site in the U.S., and ranks in the top 15 biggest players in the online gaming industry, according to SimilarWeb. Animal Jam, the online playground for kids who love animals and the outdoors, has seen astronomical growth since its inception with more than 50 million registered users worldwide. The game’s reach is expanding from online to offline with the launch of toys, accessories, and apparel at retailers this summer. With an average 25% year-over-year increase in revenue and additional global licensing deals underway, Animal Jam is slated to continue its growth and dominance in the online kids space. 'Our goal has always been to provide the world’s biggest and best online playgrounds for kids, one in which parents would feel that their kids are safe and having fun,' said Clark Stacey, CEO of WildWorks. 'I believe we’ve fulfilled that. This past year’s growth has been tremendous.' In addition, WildWorks launched Play Wild!, the mobile version of Animal Jam, in August 2015. To date, the app has received one million downloads despite having no paid user acquisition. Play Wild! has been the number one downloaded iPad game for kids 9-11 in 35 countries, the number one downloaded iPad educational game in 20 countries, and the number one top grossing iPad game for kids 9-11 in 54 countries. Similar to the popular web-based game, Animal Jam – Play Wild! provides an online experience for kids to chat with friends, play games, and learn about animals and the natural world around them through educational content including videos, animal photography, and animal facts."

It has also been heard that Wildworks is going to start releasing Animal Jam toys. Snowyclaw Jamaa has said in one of her videos that Wildworks was going to be setting up a partnership with Jazwares. Jazwares has also produced toys for Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Minecraft, Peppa Pig, and Terraria. Snowyclaw also mentioned the release of Animal Jam trading cards in her video. But the biggest news she said in her video...is that Animal Jam could start making a television series! "Animal Jam is a kids MMO-browser game and is the biggest one in Northern America. Therefore they want to expand it into a television series..." A Wildworks intern has said. I am so excited for the release of this new merchandise! Snowyclaw says in her video that more information will be learned when AJHQ makes an appearance at another toy fair. It has been said that Animal Jam Headquarters will be going to quite a lot of toy fairs this year. If you'd like to see the original video on Snowyclaw's channel, click here.

New Blog Name?

New Blog Name?

Hey jammers! It's Misty here, with some big news! I have decided to change the name of this Animal Jam blog. As of 5/15/16, we will no longer be Jamaa Society. We shall be the Animal Jam Wonders! I bet you are wondering why we are changing our name. Well, the reason why I wanted to change the name of Jamaa Society is because most people who have heard of Animal Jam but never played the game won't know what Jamaa is, and we want to be the blog that every New Jammer goes to, to learn more about the Animal Jam game. There's not going to be any major changes to the blog in quite a long time, so don't worry! I do have to apologize for the lack of posting, too. I promise I will be posting more from now on! Thanks, jammers!

Places in Jamaa

Places in Jamaa

Hey jammers! Misty here. Today I'm going to be writing about the different places in Jamaa. There are many different places in Jamaa, as you can see on the map below. On my Google+, I asked you which place in Jamaa was your favorite! And you guys said that Sarepia Forest was your favorite place in Jamaa.
So let's start off by naming all the places in Jamaa. The place with a star in it Sarepia Forest. The place on the right of it Coral Canyons. Below Coral Canyons is Crystal Sands. The place on the left of Sarepia Forest that looks very cold and icy is Mt. Shiveer, Below Mt, Shiveer is Jamaa Township. Below Jamaa Township is Kimbara Outback. On the left of Jamaa Township is Appondale. On the right of Jamaa Township is Temple of Zios. Now for the underwater places in Jamaa. By looking at the picture, you can tell that there are 4 underwater places, Bahari Bay, Crystal Reef, Kani Cove, and of course, the Deep Blue. The Deep Blue is the underwater place all the way at the bottom right corner of Jamaa. The place to the right of Deep Blue is Kani Cove. The place to the left of Deep Blue is Bahari Bay. The place closest to Crystal Sands is Crystal Reef.
So, shall we begin our tour through Jamaa? On our little trip, I hope you can learn some interesting trivia about the places in Jamaa. So let's begin at Jamaa Township, home of Jam Mart Clothing, Jam Mart Furniture, the Diamond Shop, the Sol Arcade, You can also find there Club Geoz, the Pillow Room, and Jammer Central, where Jammers can submit artwork, a howl, and more! But did you know that a hospital used to be beside the Pillow Room before the Sol Arcade was created?
Wow, just look at the sea of jammers!
Alright, next stop! Our next destination is Temple of Zios. You can find Brady's Lab and the Chamber of Knowledge in this rain forest-like terrain, also home of the Mystery Emporium, which can be found all the way at the top of the Chamber of Knowledge. Sure, it has less shops then Jamaa Township, and I admit, it can be a little frightening at times, but there are certainly a lot of facts about this exotic destination. I bet you didn't know that where Zios' fallen mask is, a statue of a monkey used to be! Cool, right?
Just paying my respects to the fallen Zios mask
Our next destination is Sarepia Forest. home to Sarepia Theater, and the Flag Shop, You can also find the Treetop Gardens in Sarepia Forest too. If you visit Sarepia Forest in the server Aldan, you can find quite a lot of role-players. Some facts about Sarepia Forest? Well, there are quite a few. Sarepia Forest used to only be called Sarepia. I, personally, think that AJHQ made no mistake adding on the Forest part. It sounds way catchier. Also, did you know that if you get enough people to dance around the fireplace in Sarepia Forest, the spirit of Mira, the sky goddess, will appear in the flames? How amazing!
Hanging by the fire in Sarepia Forest!
Next stop, Kimbara Outback! Rooms that can be found in Kimbara Outback are the Medical Center and Outback Imports too. Kimbara Outback is Jamaa's newest land, being released on July 25, 2013.
Many jammers say that no one comes here, but it's a beautiful place!
Our next destination is Appondale! In Appondale, you can find 2 rooms- the Conservation Museum, home of the Appondale Theater and the Museum Shop! Don't forget that Claws n' Paws, the Jamaa Pet Store, is also located in Appondale.
Playing in the mud at Appondale!
The next place you will be learning about in this guide today is Mt. Shiveer, the place in Jamaa most closely related to the Antarctic! You can find the Hot Cocoa Hut in Mt. Shiveer, along with the Shiveer Shoppe! You can also find the mysterious Hot Springs there. Did you know that when Mt. Shiveer was first created, there where no Hot Springs? And when the Hot Springs was created, the dinosaur had no skull?
Trying to break the ice at Mt. Shiveer!
Our final land destination is my personal favorite, Crystal Sands! Crystal Sands is the more beach/water park-themed area of Jamaa. Rooms you can find in Crystal Sands are Captain Melville's Juice Hut and Tierney's  Aquarium. There are no stores in Crystal Sands, except for a claw machine in the Juice Hut. Did you know that Crystal Sands was actually more of an exotic beach rather than a water park? There was actually a carving of Sir Gilbert in the area that is now a water park!
Dancing by the water fountain at Crystal Sands!
Now for the 4 underwater destinations, which, again, are Kani Cove, Crystal Reef, Bahari Bay, and the Deep Blue. Let's start with the Crystal Reef. There is 1 room in the Crystal Reef, which is Flippers N' Fins. There are no stores in Crystal Reef. Some facts about Crystal Reef are Crystal Reef is named after Crystal Sands, and Bahari Bay and Crystal Reef have the same music. Next, we'll talk about the Deep Blue. There are no rooms in the Deep Blue, but the Underwater Den Shop and Marine Marvels can be found in the Deep Blue. Now I'll talk about Bahari Bay. There is one shop, and one room in Bahari Bay, which is Bahari Bargains. A cool fact about Bahari Bay is that Bahari is Arabic for "from the sea".Finally, I'll talk about Kani Cove. There is 0 rooms in Kani Cove, but 1 shops can be found there which is Sunken Treasures. A cool fact about Kani Cove is that there is a sunken ship in the ocean which was owned by the Phantoms.

Alright jammers, that's it for "Places in Jamaa"! Hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful, I put a LOT of hard work into it. Credits for the tips go to the Animal Jam Community blog, which is a wonderful and informational blog that you should definitely go check out! Thank you so much, jammers! Lyrics to the "Land of Jamaa" by Snowyclaw!

Lyrics to the "Land of Jamaa" Made By Snowyclaw!

Hey, jammers! It's Misty here. Today I'm going to be putting up the lyrics to the "Jamaa Anthem" made by Snowyclaw Jamaa. Animal Jam has such a nice creation story, with Mira and Zios, and the Alphas, or shamans. It's a pity that they aren't mentioned more often in the game play. Click here to watch the video.

We will sing...
together.
And the mountains will hear our call.
And we will...
raise our voices.
Remembered forever the land of Jamaa.
We will dance...
through the country.
And the night and the day will be one.
Holding paws...
we will unite.
As one mind, as one soul,
the name of Jamaa.
Oh, Zios,
night full of bright stars.
With the moon shining down on the land.
Mira's
summer sky,
To guide us, to lead us, in ruling Jamaa.
We will live....
in joyous laughter.
With the love and the trust that we share.
And the world,
will know the good time.
Glory and honor the land of Jamaa.

Den Decorating on Animal Jam!

Den Decorating on Animal Jam!

Hey jammers, it's Misty here, bringing you another post on the Jamaa Society! Today's post is going to be about den decorating. In my opinion, den decorating is an art. Something that can be very hard for people, or very easy. I did a poll on my Google+ where I asked you guys "What den is the hardest to decorate?". You guys voted for the Beach House. I also interviewed a random jammer (shout out to acmb2008 for participating in this little interview!)  about den decorating. Here's what she said:

Me: How long does it take you to decorate a den?

acmb2008: One or two hours.

Me: Which den is the hardest to decorate?

acmb2008: The Beach House.

Me: What is an item that you must have in every den?

acmb2008: The Cake Bake Kitchen (from Epic Wonders).

After that, she even let us take some photos of what her den looks like! Credit goes to Twinkles05 for taking these marvelous photos!

Alright, now for the den decorating tips! I bet many of you are wondering the key to making a den look good. Well, we have the answer. This list contains some helpful den decorating tips that you can certainly use when decorating your own den.

  1. Different Den Themes
Animal Jam's wide variety of furniture makes it possible to have a different theme for each den! Have you ever tried making a hotel? Or a spa? Maybe you've tried making a restaurant on Animal Jam. If you haven't, then you definitely should! You can check out ZoeyCreatesAJ for some ideas on how to make "themed dens".

      2. When In Need, Use Nature Items!

Like Wisteria Moon says in her 10 Minute Den Challenge video, trees make everything look better. This can actually be true. Nature items look really good in most dens. You can get some nature items in Treetop Gardens in Sarepia Forest. You can also get some trees in the seasonal adventures, like Lucky Clovers and the Spring Festival.

      3. The Wallpaper and Flooring You Use Are Crucial

Wallpaper and flooring are everything when making dens. If your wallpaper and flooring look bad, chances are that your den isn't going to look that good too. So make sure that you like the wallpaper and flooring that you are using.

Alright, jammers. I know that the decorating tips were a little short, but it's fine. Anyway, thanks for reading! Check out the Jamaa Society for more posts like this! This is Misty, signing out!
